CISM leverages its projects to study neurodevelopment within the emerging field of population neuroscience, integrating neuroscience investigations with epidemiological sampling methods to better understand individual differences associated with mental disorders. Our projects translate evidence-based findings with clinical and social relevance into actionable models that can be implemented by government agencies and other sectors of society.<\/h3>\n

Precision Neuroscience<\/h2>

The \u201cConex\u00e3o Mentes do Futuro\u201d project is part of a global research initiative focused on understanding the development and mental health of young people around the world. It builds on the \u201cBrazilian High Risk Cohort Study (BHRC)\u201d, a pioneering study that followed children and adolescents from 2,511 families in the cities of Porto Alegre (RS) and S\u00e3o Paulo (SP).<\/p>\n

The Center for Evaluation and Incubation of Digital Mental Health Interventions aims to develop, test, and validate various mobile applications to improve the lives of people with mental health conditions.<\/p>\n

Implementation Science<\/h2>

A research hub dedicated to bridging scientific evidence with real-world healthcare, education, and public policy settings, transforming evidence-based interventions into practical, sustainable, and potentially scalable strategies for implementation within Sistema \u00danico de Sa\u00fade (SUS) and other community-based settings.<\/p>\n

Mental Health of Children and Young Adults<\/h2>

The fourth area, developed through a partnership between CISM and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Child Mind Institute,\u00a0brings together multiple strategies aimed at advancing cutting-edge research and promoting mental healthcare for children and adolescents. This initiative includes the development of the first nationwide epidemiological study on the mental health of Brazilian children, adolescents, and young adults; the use of multimodal technologies to advance knowledge of mental disorders and neuroscience; the implementation of evidence-based treatment protocols within public healthcare services; and the creation of the Center of Excellence in Data Science and Implementation.<\/p>\n
