
Giovanni Abrahão Salum
He is a physician trained at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), with clinical training in psychiatry at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA) and a PhD in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Graduate Program (PPG-Psychiatry).
During his doctoral studies, he completed a research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH, USA) and later pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in the Graduate Program in Psychiatry at UFRGS. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Legal Medicine at the UFRGS School of Medicine and a permanent faculty member of the UFRGS Graduate Program in Psychiatry. He coordinates the Negative Affect and Social Processes Section at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. He previously served as Coordinator of the Mental Health Division of Porto Alegre.
At CISM, he is the Director of the Precision Neuroscience Module and also contributes to the research area focused on the mental health of children and young adults.
