
Heloisa Garcia Claro Fernandes
Associate Professor at the School of Nursing of the University of Campinas (Unicamp), she holds a degree in Nursing from the University of São Paulo (USP), as well as a teaching degree, master’s, and doctoral degree in Sciences from the Graduate Program in Nursing. During her doctoral studies, she completed an international research internship as a research volunteer at the Lighthouse Institute of Chestnut Health Systems and as a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she later returned for technical visits focused on research cooperation and collaboration.
She completed two postdoctoral fellowships — the first in Sciences at the School of Nursing of USP and the second in Epidemiology at the School of Medicine of USP. At Unicamp, she serves as a faculty advisor in the Executive Office for International Relations (DERI).
She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and the International Nurses Society on Addictions (IntNSA). She leads the Interdisciplinary Center for Epidemiological Studies in Mental Health, Alcohol, and Other Drugs (NIESMAD), the Alcohol and Other Drugs Research Group, the Latin America Treatment and Innovation Network in Mental Health (LATIN-MH), based at FMUSP, and the Population Mental Health Research Support Center.
She is a co-investigator of the Mutual Objective Care (COM) project. At CISM, she serves as the lead researcher of the CONEMO project, which is part of the Implementation Science module.
