
Joana Portolese
She holds a degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a specialist certification in Neuropsychology from the Federal Council of Psychology (CFP). She holds a PhD in Sciences from the Department of Psychiatry at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine (FMUSP), and serves as coordinator of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Program (PROTEA) and supervisor of the multidisciplinary team of the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program (PROANDE) within the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of the Institute of Psychiatry (HC-FMUSP).
She is a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment and intervention of children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism. Her research and clinical work aim to improve methods for identifying strengths and challenges in children and adolescents with autism. She also develops social initiatives focused on awareness and training in the fields of autism, healthcare, and education.
At CISM, she coordinates the “Treatment Protocols” area of the research module focused on the mental health of children and young adults.
