Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Professor in the Graduate Program in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), and Research Associate at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

He is a physician and physiotherapist graduated from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), with a Master’s degree in Pharmacology from the same institution (with an emphasis on neuropsychopharmacology). He completed his Psychiatry residency at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA) and holds a PhD in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He conducted postdoctoral research at the LSE with a Newton Fund fellowship.

At CISM, he serves as a Senior Scientific Lead at the Center of Excellence in Data Science and Implementation within the research module focused on the mental health of children and young adults.
